The event is an opportunity to hear from Professor Jeanette R. Davidson on her recent book, Black Lives in Scotland: Telling Our Stories, published by Edinburgh University Press. Black Lives in Scotland explores the testimonies of Black-Scottish people, including new immigrant families from Africa and the Diaspora. The book seeks to highlight narratives of resilience, empowerment, care, belonging, survival, and accomplishment whilst addressing myths and realities of Scottish values and history and looking forward to possibilities for anti-racist liberation in the future. The event will include a talk and presentation by Professor Davidson followed by a Q&A session.
